History

The roots of Starlinger Mayer Rechtsanwält:innen date back to 2015. Founded by Christian Mayer and Thomas Starlinger, the firm has, from the very beginning, been shaped by a shared vision: to combine legal work at the highest professional level with a clear focus on practical, workable solutions. Early on, the firm established itself in complex areas of law such as EU and competition law as well as energy law.

From 2018 onwards, additional focus areas were developed – in particular corporate law with a focus on corporate governance and employment law. In the following years, the team grew steadily and was expanded with further business law expertise, including corporate, M&A, banking & finance, real estate law, and litigation.

Since March 2026, Starlinger Mayer Rechtsanwält:innen has been operating under the Forvis Mazars brand and is thus part of the service offering of Forvis Mazars in Austria. This step builds on many years of successful cooperation and reflects the shared ambition to view and consistently represent clients’ legal and economic interests as a single integrated whole.

Under the Forvis Mazars brand, the firm’s business law specialisation and legal excellence are combined with the interdisciplinary capabilities, international reach, and structured advisory approach of the other service lines of Forvis Mazars.
